Event #1 Recap: Throwback Format Returns at Skyway Bowl
Recap #1 of the 2025/2026 season is here! We had our first throwback event and brought back the 2 squad format... and I hope you all agree when I say I think it was a great change of pace. We had 117 entries spread out over the 9am and 1pm squads and we bowled on the I.B.F. 43ft Mexico City pattern.
Thanks to all the sales of 50/50 and raffles we were able to take an extra bowler and make it 24 bowlers into the match play rounds.
🏆 Special Announcement: The Players Tour Hall of Fame
Before match play, I was able to finally share the special announcement. Starting this year we will introduce The Players Tour Hall of Fame! I was honored to announce that at our Finale event in May 2026 our first ever inductee will be none other than the PT founding father Mr. Joe Ciach!
If you cross with him on or off the lanes this year make sure to congratulate and thank him for laying the ground work to make all these events possible. Thanks Joe and enjoy your year!!!
🎯 Match Play and Finals
Once match play begun we had exciting matches and finishes that lead us to the final of Darren Alexander vs. Will Lyon. Both bowlers were double digit seeds and both navigated a very tricky 4 rounds to be able to square off against each other.
Will made quality shots, but it was Darren who would not let the title slip from his grasp coming out victorious 256-188. Congrats to both bowlers on a stellar start to the season!
